Kade Reynolds took the mound by storm in a non-conference, doubleheader game against Pearl River Community College (PRCC) on February 5, 2023. Even though the WCJC Pioneers didn’t come out on top, Kade’s brilliant performance was nothing short of impressive.
Down 3-1, Kade entered the game in the top of the 2nd inning with two outs and a runner on first. Showing no signs of nervousness, he got right to work, retiring his first batter with a fly out to shallow right field for out number 3. Kade’s incredible pitching continued in the third inning, where he dominated by retiring the side in order with two groundouts, while the other went down swinging.
In the fourth inning, Kade’s determination to maintain his strong performance was apparent. He retired the first two batters with ease, forcing a ground out to third and a strikeout looking. The third batter managed to walk, but Kade quickly recovered and forced the next batter to hit a fly out to the shortstop, ending the inning.
Kade pitched 2 and 1/3 innings, impressively striking out two batters and giving up no runs. Although his efforts didn’t secure a win for the Pioneers who fell to PRCC 11-7, his incredible display of skill did not go unnoticed. Fans can confidently expect to see more of Kade’s outstanding performance on the mound in future games.
